Relaxation is Included
While I sit back east and stare out my window at the cold and the snow, I can’t help but think about summer and vacations. I know there are plenty of people who love the snow and go on winter vacations, and I do snowboard, but for some reason the word “vacation” always conjures up white sandy beaches and glittering blue waters. And if I’m truly going on a vacation and want to be worry-free, there’s no better way than to stay somewhere all-inclusive.
Not every all-inclusive place is created equally. Some end up charging you for certain items, some only include food, and some like to upsell you for upgrades like avoiding the restaurant lines, priority reservations and liquors, and even certain pools. The Caribbean is well-known for the many resorts they have and Mexico generally gets a bad rap. If there is one place I would suggest in Mexico, though, it would be Le Blanc Spa Resort.
Located in the hotel zone in Cancún, Le Blanc knows how to do this right. It is a Five Diamond AAA hotel and has been rated #4 all-inclusive resort in the world by Trip Advisor. They have white sandy beaches, pools with swim-up bars, and even a lagoon where swimming is not permitted (beware of crocodiles!) where you may observe some local wildlife.
They have four excellent restaurants that cover everything from Italian to Asian, and you can order room service or food at the pool as well. Rooms are well-stocked with alcohol; they are definitely not stingy on the drinks. The above picture is not a bar; it is a cupboard in my room!
They have a number of activities from happy hours to fire dancers on the beach. There are also daytime excursions that take you scuba diving, horseback riding, or you can take day trips to go snorkeling, boating, or hiking around the ruins at Tulum.
Of course, these tours assume that you will want to leave the property at all. One thing I love about Cancún is its relative seclusion. You don’t have to go anywhere if you don’t want. Le Blanc also has an award-winning spa, where I received one of the best massages I’ve ever had.
While exploration is good, sometimes you just want to sit and have someone else take care of everything. Le Blanc is the sort of place to do just that.
